At the end of December, Alpha Engineering marked the retirements of Jeff Raufeisen and Jeff Hale, closing out two careers spent almost entirely in Indiana's power and energy industry.

Jeff Raufeisen started as a lineman with Johnson County REMC, then served as a lineman and superintendent at Bargersville Utilities. He joined Alpha Engineering in 2014 as a Project Engineer and worked on transmission and distribution projects across the state through 2025.

Jeff Hale gave nearly four decades to Henry County REMC, moving from lineman to Line Superintendent before joining Alpha Engineering in 2015, also as a Project Engineer. He supported a wide range of utility and municipal work here, and brought a depth of field experience that is difficult to hire for.

Both of them came to engineering by way of the line, which is a particular kind of background and one we value highly. An engineer who has climbed the pole and worked the outage designs differently. They know which drawings are buildable, which clearances are theoretical, and what a crew will actually be able to do at two in the morning in February. That judgment shows up in the work, and it showed up in how both men mentored younger engineers here.

We thank Jeff Raufeisen and Jeff Hale for their service and congratulate them both on well-earned retirements. Their contributions to this firm, and to Indiana's energy community, will outlast their time at the desk.
